Captain Kingsley Etukudo Akpan is a Nigerian maritime professional, Master Mariner, and Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator with over two decades of hands-on experience in offshore marine operations and vessel command.
Professional Profile
Captain Akpan began his career as a Deck Cadet and advanced steadily through the maritime ranks — from Third Officer to Second Officer, Chief Officer, and ultimately Captain/Master — serving on offshore support vessels, anchor handling tug supply vessels, fast supply vessels, and oil tankers.
He previously served as Captain/SDPO with LATC Marine Ltd, Nigeria, where he also held responsibilities as a Referent Captain, supervising vessel operations and providing operational guidance across fleet activities.
Throughout his career he has worked with reputable marine companies including LATC Marine Ltd, CS Offshore DMCC (Dubai), Hartmann Offshore Nigeria Ltd, West African Ventures Nigeria Ltd, Walvis Nigeria Ltd, Anchor Ocean Nigeria Ltd, Topaz Marine (Dubai), and VAL Shipping SA (Greece).
His offshore operational experience includes supporting major international oil companies such as TotalEnergies Nigeria, ExxonMobil Plc Nigeria, Perenco Oil and Gas Angola, Chevron Nigeria, Seplat Energy, Addax Petroleum, Oriental Energy, and Saipem Offshore across fields in West Africa and international waters.
Operations covered include FPSO supply missions, offshore platform logistics, rig support, cargo handling, towing, ROV support, tanker lifting, safety operations, and dynamic positioning operations in demanding offshore environments.
